Graphite Heat Sink
PI film is the core raw material for making graphite heat sink (cooling fin). At present, the main material of graphite fin is artificial graphite sheet.
Polyimide film, the main raw material of artificial graphite sheet, is produced by carbonization and graphitization at two high temperature processes. Carbonization is the pre-procedure of graphitization, which aims to volatilize all or most of the non-carbon components in PI film and needs to be carried out at a specific high temperature. In the graphitization process, we further heat up the carbonized PI film by adding argon or nitrogen as medium in a specific graphitization furnace. The polycyclic compound molecules are reformed at high temperature, accompanied by oscillating operation of periodic heating for many times, and finally form a large area graphite original film with high crystallinity through chemical changes. With the growth of heat dissipation application market, the application of polyimide film in artificial graphite sheet will gradually increase.
